New Coldplay album to feature Gwyneth Paltrow, Beyoncé’s baby
Despite having consciously uncoupled from each other—presumably as part of their respective life goal quests to not spend so much time with Gwyneth Paltrow or Chris Martin anymore—Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and actress Gwyneth Paltrow have at least one more collaboration in the works. According to a Wall Street Journal interview promoting the band’s upcoming A Head Full Of Dreams, Martin told reporters that Paltrow will appear on a track on the new album. (As will his current girlfriend, suggesting that the album could safely be renamed A Disc Full Of People Chris Martin Has Made Out With.)
The Goop-master and Iron Man star will appear on a track titled “Everglow,” singing (or, as it’s known in Paltrowspeak, “vocally melodizing”) about a relationship’s enduring spark, reflecting on her own ten-year marriage to Martin. She won’t be the only non-singer taking part, either; Martin has recruited a chorus of friends and family to contribute to the album, including Blue Ivy Carter, the daughter of one of the rare Dreams collaborators to actually be a talented musician: Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. And although Blue Ivy is only three, it didn’t stop Martin from adding her voice to the chorus that underpins the album, possibly because Chris Martin just really likes color words. (His and Paltrow’s own entries in the Dumb Celebrity Kid Name Pool, meanwhile—Moses and Apple—will also appear on Head Full Of Dreams.)
Martin also said that the album—which comes out on December 4—is inspired by a 13th century poem by Rumi, because you can’t stay married to Gwyenth Paltrow for a decade without picking up at least some of this stuff.
