Hey, do you like the New Cult Canon? Would you like to see some New Cult Canon films in the theater? Well, if you live in Chicago, Denver, or the Twin Cities, your chance has arrived. And if you live in Chicago, you'll get a chance to see New Cult Canon creator and curator Scott Tobias in person. The city-by-city details:

(Sponsored by Amstel Light, the football-throwing friend of light beers.)
Twin Cities
October 8: Oldboy

Park Chan-Wook's stirring, stylish revenge drama needs to be seen on the big screen. And now's your chance. Preceded by a pre-party at Cause at 10pm. (Sponsored by Amstel Light, the hammer-slinging avenger of light beers.)
Chicago
October 14: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (with intro by Scott Tobias and a Q&A session with Tobias and Nathan Rabin)

The Shane Black meta-action film returns to the big screen for one night only at the Music Box. The pre-party starts at 5 p.m. at Toons, just down the street. (Sponsored by Amstel Light, the Shane Black of light beers.)
Hope you can join us. And bring a friend. The more successful these events are, the more we can do, maybe in your town.
P.S. Nathan Rabin and Scott Tobias will also host a screening of Team America: World Police on Friday, October 8 at the Music Box, with special guests The Chiodo Brothers, the animators and FX wizards who did the puppet effects for the film. The Chiodos (Stephen, Charles, and Edward) were also responsible for memorable effects work in Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure (Large Marge!), Elf, and Tim Burton’s Vincent, and between the three of them, they wrote and directed the cult favorite Killer Klowns From Outer Space. The Chiodos are bringing along a special presentation about the making of Team America, and will discuss their arduous process. Details here. Advance tickets here.
