If HBO’s Game Of Thrones has a big bad beyond George R.R. Martin’s bloodlust, it’s the Night King, the apparent leader of the White Walkers. Assuming those glorified ice zombies actually have motivations beyond killing humans, the Night King is the guy running their evil scheme to head south and take over the rest of Westeros. So it’s safe to assume that we’re going to be seeing a lot of him as Game Of Thrones moves toward its finale.
Naturally, then, the Night King takes center stage in a new piece of promo art released for the show’s upcoming season premiere, peering right at you from one cold, blue eye as if to say, “I’m going to kill you and turn you into an ice zombie.” You can see the regular image below, along with a slightly fancier animated version below that.
Game Of Thrones returns to HBO on June 16.
