Though it may look like an extremely dramatic Bonnie Tyler video (“I Need A Hero” anyone?), this is actually a second teaser for Heroes Reborn, NBC’s upcoming revival of the superhero show that some people liked for a while. While the last trailer—released during the Super Bowl—didn’t give us much to go on besides snow, an eclipse, Jack Coleman, and Zachary Levi, this new one seems to be setting up the world of Heroes Reborn and how it has been changed after the events of the original series. Basically, that amounts to a lot of people looking sad and painting “Where Are The Heroes?” on things. The imagery is certainly powerful, especially paired with a sparse cover of Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters,” but it remains to be seen whether or not the show will be able to match the “Oh god, we’re all so miserable” tone of this trailer. Or, on the other hand, maybe it’ll have no problem doing that.
Heroes Reborn will premiere on NBC on September 24.
