Netflix’s House Of Cards has found itself in a very strange place. After spending four seasons imagining how fun it would be to see a president who is an unrepentantly evil bastard, the real-life American people ended up electing an actual president who is an unrepentantly evil bastard. Rather than backing down and somehow turning Kevin Spacey’s Frank Underwood into a good guy, though, this new trailer for the show’s fifth season suggests it’s going to stay the course and show that orange asshole how it’s done. Never before has a man with a buttery Southern drawl reciting a list of election years sounded so spooky, but at least you can turn this show off if it gets too scary. We’re not that fortunate with the real president.
The new season of House Of Cards will finally premiere on May 30.
