New Incredible Hulk show! Hulk smash original concept! TV be more like 1970s now! That last good decade for idea, apparently!
The recent gamma-ray explosion that sent our television executives hurtling backward through time to the 1970s continues to have residual shocks, with Deadline now reporting that ABC will mount a new live-action TV version of The Incredible Hulk to go with those previously announced reboots of Wonder Woman, CHiPs, and Carter-era malaise. It’s the first project for Disney’s new Marvel TV division under the direction of Heroes/Smallville writer-producer Jeph Loeb, and the first small-screen live-action take on the character since Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno shared a pair of pants from 1978 to 1982. The concept of original television was last seen hitchhiking along a mountain highway while a pensive piano piece played in the background.
