Brooding, rocking, kickass songwriter PJ Harvey has announced a Sept. 24 release date (internationally, that is–no word yet on a domestic date) for her new album White Chalk. Her first studio disc since 2004's Uh Huh Her (though last year's Peel Sessions collection is nothing to sneeze at), White Chalk will feature contributions from old Harvey cohorts John Parish, Eric Drew Feldman, and Dirty Three's Jim White. According to Harvey, the album will be lighter on the guitar, heavier on the piano. According to me, it will rule.
