Past trailers for AMC’s upcoming Preacher have focused on the more prosaic aspects of its setting, with certified badass-turned-man-of-god Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) laying down the law (and some brutal beatings) to the members of his flock. Today’s short, 20-second teaser for the show—still set to debut May 22—is more into the series’ spookier side, with an ominous voiceover telling us “something got loose.” That something is presumably the magical force that transforms Jesse into a sort of John Wayne-loving superhero, and his sleepy hamlet into a supernatural bloodbath, complete with screaming old ladies, arse-faced teenagers, and a certain sunglasses-wearing vampire (Joe Gilgun’s Cassidy) lunging teeth-bared at the people on the other side of the screen.
