We've seen Joy Division sneakers, and more recently we saw questionable ads that egregiously rewrote history by putting Joey Ramone in Doc Martens, but this is a piece of rock-star flotsam we can get behind (sort of): Converse recently unveiled a long-overdue tribute series of Chuck Taylors featuring the band's familiar logo in place of the star and lots of that prefabricated "distressing" that the kids love so much.
And really, what better tribute? As the Stereogum article reminds us, Joey Ramone famously insisted that his bandmates wear either Chucks or Keds, so at least they finally got the brand right.
