If you thought the last promo for Scream Queens wasn’t quite bonkers enough, this one has certainly upped the ante. It features the three Chanels being wheeled around on stretchers, passing by unnerving patients. When the gang breaks off, Chanels #3 and #5 (Billie Lourd and Abigail Breslin) are taken to private rooms to mack on doctors played by John Stamos and Taylor Lautner, respectively. The creep factor is still very much in play with the implication that Stamos’ medical professional is getting it on with someone half his age, but that’s nothing compared to what Chanel Oberlin (Emma Roberts) had to face. At the mercy of Zayday Williams (Keke Palmer) she’s taken to Hester Ulrich (Lea Michele), who turned out to be last season’s big bad. Now Hester’s out of her neck brace and into a Hannibal Lecter-style mask.
It’s not clear if this teaser is simple meant to be atmospheric, or if it actually hints at whatever zany plot Ryan Murphy and company have up their sleeves for this season. We’ll find out when Scream Queens premieres September 20 on Fox.
