Maybe even the trade papers are getting tired of this time of pilots and pickups, if the Hollywood Reporter headline "Pilots: Nets keep playing pickup" is any indication. Can you blame them? On Friday, we posted about New Amsterdam, a pilot for Fox about a detective who's immortal, and now CBS has picked up Twilight, a drama pilot about a private investigator WHO IS ALSO A VAMPIRE and therefore also immortal. (Twilight's executive producers include Matrix producer Joel Silver.) Will it be the shortest-lived rivalry in TV history, or the most interminable? Only you and the executives and the focus groups can decide.
