New-season news: Spike Lee, Lasse Hallstrom directing drama pilots
Spike Lee will direct M.O.N.Y., a drama pilot for NBC. Hollywood Reporter says it will be shot on-location in New York and concerns an "everyman" type who becomes mayor. Another filmmaker getting in on the pilot action: Lasse Hallstrom (Chocolat, What's Eating Gilbert Grape), who's directing a drama pilot for Fox, New Amsterdam. Also set in New York, it's about a detective (think we've got enough cop shows in the works yet, people?) who's (this makes it official)… cursed with immortality.
