Previous Ghost In The Shell teasers have tipped us off to Scarlett Johansson’s cybernetic abilities, as well as the connection to the original film. But this new TV spot, which has been released ahead of its Super Bowl airing, hints at what’s underneath it all—specifically, the whirring gears that lie beneath The Major’s (Johansson) lovely face. She ditches her trench coat to swan dive in all her au mecha-naturel glory, before kicking some ass. We’ve seen some of those fight sequences before, but this new teaser also introduces an eight-legged enemy. There’s also the requisite ominous reference, which touches upon how the Major’s life wasn’t saved, but stolen.
Directed by Rupert Sanders, Ghost In The Shell opens March 31.
