Sony has released three new teasers for the long-awaited—and long-delayed—The Dark Tower, and each serves as a bit of a primer on the complicated world of the Stephen King adaptation, outlining the central conflict between Idris Elba’s good guy gunslinger and Matthew McConaughey’s nefarious Man In Black. Above, we get a bit of a traditional look at the film as Elba‘s Roland Deschain doles out exposition on how he is the lone person that can defend the two universes—ours and his—that are threatened by McConaughey’s character. The one titled “Knight” focuses solely on Roland and his way with a firearm.
Meanwhile, in the “Man In Black” footage, McConaughey issues threats, touting his own power, claiming, “Death always wins.”
The Dark Tower is finally getting released August 4.
