– Upping her geek-crush factor considerably, Kristen Bell is leaving the late, lamented Veronica Mars behind and joining the cast of Heroes, beginning a multi-episode arc in October. Her character Elle is described as a "sexy, mysterious young lady who has ties to the supposed death of Peter, H.R.G.'s past and the future of Claire." Sounds sexy. And mysterious.
– Ryan Seacrest has been tapped to host the Emmys. What, did someone miss a deadline?
– A faulty side panel on a truck resulted in serious injuries for 11 people on the set of the Tom Cruise WWII drama Valkyrie, including one who remains in the hospital. A police spokesman was quoted as saying, "We have no findings to suggest anyone famous was involved in the accident." Oh…well, never mind then.
