Nicholas D’Agosto’s Harvey Dent is now a series regular on Gotham
Life imitates art this week as something that was telegraphed a long time ago unfolds exactly as expected, much like every single storyline on Gotham. Back in November, we reported that Nicholas D’Agosto, who plays idealistic attorney and future supervillain Harvey Dent, would be joining the regular cast in season two of the show, barring any exciting surprises. And since exciting surprises are more or less anathema to Gotham, Deadline reports that it’s official: In season two, D’Agosto will join the series full time.
D’Agosto only appeared in a few episodes this past season, in which he was both energetically idealistic and showed signs of a violent temper, suggesting he will fit in well with the early incarnations of other future villains like Edward Nygma, a.k.a. The Riddler. He’ll be joining Morena Baccarin, who was also upped to series regular in round two. There’s no word yet on whether Dent’s transition to the evil Two-Face would be happening in the upcoming season, but if history is any indication, someone will announce what’s happening next year early in this season, just so Gotham can continue the fight against its biggest nemesis: dramatic tension.
