Nick Offerman to glower, brood as one of Holt’s stoic exes on Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is about to get even more handsomely stoic. Nick Offerman has been cast in an upcoming episode as Frederick, one of Captain Holt’s exes. As Entertainment Weekly reports, there are few details about Offerman’s role available, though it’s clear he’ll appear in the episode “Ava,” which takes place on Thanksgiving Day and involves a scenario in which Frederick and Andre Braugher’s Holt cross paths during the birth of Terry’s third child. The episode will air on November 22, just in time for the end of sweeps.

Interestingly enough, this isn’t really Offerman’s first appearance on Nine-Nine. He does the voiceover for the Fremulon buffer that airs at the end of each episode’s credits, something that probably came about due to his friendship with the show’s creators, Parks And Recreation creator Michael Schur and executive producer Dan Goor.
