Nick Offerman to host, possibly carve the Webby Awards

In saluting the “best of the internet” this year, the Webby Awards will honor the Black Lives Matter social movement, Game Of Thronescontinued expert trolling of its fans on social media, as well as give a Lifetime Achievement award to The A.V. Club’s sister publication, The Onion. And the Webbys have tapped Nick Offerman to hand out the awards as the host of next month’s ceremony, which will presumably switch to a wooden coil or at least feature a wooden base for its metal spring.

All woodworking jokes aside, including ones involving Offerman catching a plane to New York City, the erstwhile Ron Swanson has an engaging online presence. He and Megan Mullally regularly post pictures of their blissful wedded life, which involves doing a lot of jigsaw puzzles. Offerman also recently offered some sage advice via his “Shower Thoughts” video, when he blew minds by suggesting that taking candy from a baby is the responsible thing to do.

The Webbys will take place on May 16, and a stream of the ceremony will be available at WebbyAwards.com the very next day. Below you’ll find a list of other notable winners, including some recognition for Zoolander (good for him).
