Nickelodeon’s bringing back Double Dare for one week only
San Diego Comic-Con is just days away now, and its arrival is being heralded with all manner of hints at just what the geeky faithful in attendance will get to see before the hoi polloi at home. In addition to a preview of American Gods and the return of Marvel Entertainment, Comic-Con will play host to a one-night presentation of Double Dare that will kick off a weeklong on-air event.
Nickelodeon announced the revival earlier today, which marks the 30th anniversary of the Double Dare show. Marc Summers will resume his hosting duties for a Facebook Live chat (via Nickelodeon’s The Splat page) at Comic-Con on Friday, July 22 at 9:30 p.m. (ET/PT). A whole new generation of contestants will have their mettle tested with trivia questions and various gak-related physical challenges, like the Double Dare Nose and Down The Hatch.
The weeklong Double Dare event, which Summers will also host, will then air on TeenNick beginning Monday, July 25 at 10 p.m. (ET/PT). The lineup includes “Double Dare game interstitials, exclusive Snapchat photos from the live event, the most memorable moments from the game show and episodes from the original series, Family Double Dare, and Double Dare 2000.”
