Nicki Minaj has been secretly funding schools and clean water for a village in India

Earlier this month, Nicki Minaj went on an impromptu charity spending spree, pledging to pay off a bunch of student loans and other school-related expenses for her Twitter followers. Shortly after that, Minaj announced that she’s actually going to start a charity dedicated to helping people pay for school. But it turns out that Minaj’s charitable streak is not only not a new thing, it’s also not just limited to people who follow her on social media. As reported by Mashable, Minaj has been donating money to an unnamed village in India for years through her pastor, helping to establish a computer center, multiple water wells, and a reading program.

Minaj posted about the village a few times on her Instagram page, and it sounds like her decision to stop keeping this to herself is so she can inspire her fans to look for ways that they can also help people in need. In the caption to one post, she says she’ll announce more in the future “in case you’d like to be a part of it.”
