Nicolas Cage declares war on organized crime for real

Not content with merely blasting away at it with a shotgun, actor Nicolas Cage has decided to “stop being an actor and start taking ac-tion” against organized crime by using his recently appointed role as the U.N.’s goodwill ambassador for global justice to bring worldwide attention to it. Cage made a speech in Vienna today at the opening of an exhibit focusing on human trafficking, where he pledged to help the world make sense of the often-overwhelming numbers of organized crime statistics and “bring it down” to a more human level, beginning by relating an anecdote about a boy he met who was “forced to eat his 15-year-old brother alive.” Yikes, Nicolas Cage. That’s definitely a good start. (And if you think that’s disturbing to read, you should hear Nicolas Cage say it.)
