Based on the Ryû Murakami novel of the same name, Piercing is a pitch-black thriller from director Nicolas Pesce and Christopher Abbott (Girls, First Man) about a man who decides to murder a random sex worker in a hotel room, for unclear reasons. Ahead of the Piercing’s premiere, we spoke with Pesce and Abbott about the film, and why audiences love thrillers.
