Nikita wraps up its run stranded in a TV wasteland

Here’s what’s up in the world of TV for Friday, December 27, and Saturday, December 28. All times are Eastern.

TOP PICK
Nikita (The CW, 9 p.m., Friday): The CW renewed Nikita for a fourth and final season of just six episodes, seemingly out of the goodness of its heart. Then it aired its second episode the day after Thanksgiving and will air its series finale tonight, the Friday after Christmas. We could never get enough of you into this show to add it full-time, but Phil Dyess-Nugent has been paying attention to it over the years, making sure we had someone there to cover some of its bigger moments. He’ll be back one last time tonight, as the show wraps up its run for good.

WHAT ELSE IS ON
1 Vs. 100 (Game Show Network, 8 p.m., Friday): Screw it. We always enjoyed this Bob Saget-hosted game show that briefly aired on NBC in the wake of the success of Deal Or No Deal. Nobody else did, so it didn’t last too long, but it’s nice to see GSN has picked it up for a rerun cycle. Hooray for Saget!

Styled To Rock (Bravo, 8 p.m., Friday): Bravo’s reality series about rock star stylists airs a new episode tonight wherein the team takes on Rihanna. We actually sort of assumed that Rihanna’s style just sort of happened, like she simply wakes up every morning simultaneously classy and provocative. Just like us!

What We Wasted Our Year On (NBC, 9 p.m. Friday): NBC is showing the complete run of Sean Saves The World compressed into one hour tonight? Hey-o!

Party Down (Esquire, 10 p.m., Friday): Party Down was one of our favorite shows of the last several years, yet it seems like it’s still a bit of an undiscovered gem that too many people we talk to haven’t heard of. Anyway, two of the best episodes of the show’s run air tonight, so check them out!

WWE Tribute To The Troops (NBC, 8 p.m., Saturday): The WWE offers up a tribute to the men and women of our armed forces. On top of that battle where the organization determined whether White Santa or Black Santa was better, the WWE is really doing its best to discuss important issues.

Six Little McGhees (OWN, 8:30 p.m., Saturday): Spend this evening with 90 new minutes of McGhee! It’s actually the first three episodes of a brand new season, concluding with an hour-long two-parter in which the family goes fishing. Doesn’t that sound exciting? Isn’t it something you want to watch?

Enchanted (Disney, 8 p.m., Friday): Is it possible for a woman who’s been nominated for an Oscar a bajillion times to be a little bit underrated as an actress? Because we feel that way about Amy Adams. Just look at her insanely great performance in this movie, then imagine who else could have done it.

The Magnificent Ambersons (TCM, 8 p.m., Friday): Orson Welles followed up Citizen Kane with this movie, which is also terrific. By the by, if you find a box labeled “Magnificent Ambersons: Original Cut” in your grandparents’ attic, make sure you get that down to some film historians as quickly as possible.

Eve’s Bayou (BET, 7 p.m., Saturday): This 1997 film was Roger Ebert’s number one movie of that year. We haven’t seen it, but we’ve spent much of this year remembering the man, and this seems like a great chance to catch up on a movie he obviously adored.

Fight Hunger Bowl: BYU vs. Washington (ESPN, 9:30 p.m., Friday): BYU has two rushers who’ve cracked the 1,000-yard mark, while Washington has a player named Bishop Sankey, which sort of sounds like coffee you’d make in a microwave. So we’ll be cheering for Mr. Sankey, thank you very much.

Boxing: Mansour-Price (heavyweights) (NBC Sports, 9 p.m., Saturday): Amir Mansour and Kelvin Price face off in a heavyweight bout in Atlantic City. That’s all we got from the TV Guide summary, so that’s all you’re going to get. But we sometimes like to feature boxing here and pretend it’s 1924 or something.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
The Shield (March): Brandon Nowalk’s Shield reviews were some of our favorite TV Club Classic entries of the year. Check out his review of the series’ pilot and get a sense of what you missed when you didn’t read these in favor of… we don’t even know what you people do with your time. Thanks for reading.
