Nikki Sixx’s The Heroin Diaries is definitely going to be a musical, maybe

Quenching the thirst of millions of hungry, adoring fans, Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Six announced today that his book The Heroin Diaries will be turned into a Broadway musical. Sixx claimed on Facebook that he’d been “getting asked this a lot lately”—which makes sense, as fans of glam metal are pretty reliably into musical theater. The theoretical premiere date for The Heroin Diaries: The Musical has been tentatively set for late 2013 or early 2014.

There are no details yet regarding the music (though Sixx recorded a companion concept album to the book with his other band Sixx:AM), nor the play's casting, writing, or directing, so it seems fair to speculate wildly that the book will be written by Stephen Sondheim and the production will star Hugh Jackman as Sixx and Daniel Radcliffe as Tommy Lee.
