Because there’s certainly nothing else to talk about today, the online world has been in something of a tizzy over this New York Post article, which posits that last week’s episode of The Office featured a secret cameo from Steve Carell. The report points out that, as seen in the above screenshot, one of the members of trivia team “the Queerenstein Bears” slightly resembled Carell, despite sporting a bushy beard and a hairline that Carell himself hasn’t had since around season one. Unfortunately, NBC has come along to dash any hope that The Office had pulled off such a subtle surprise, confirming that the extra in question is definitely not Steve Carell. This was, instead, just another episode of the current season of The Office, so no need to get too excited.
