No, The Gifted wont back down

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Monday, October 16. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

The Gifted (Fox, 9 p.m.): In its first couple of episodes, this X-Men series has leaned heavier on its dramatic elements than awesome displays of power, which has mostly worked in its favor. But there’s a showdown brewing in “eXodus” between the Mutant Underground, which has been looking after the Strucker kids, and the Sentinel Services, which is now aided by the kids’ dad. Jesse Hassenger will be there for the melee and the quieter moments.

Regular coverage

Supergirl (The CW, 8 p.m.)
Lucifer (Fox, 8 p.m.)

Wild card

Horror At The Cecil Hotel (ID, 10 p.m.): It’s mid-October, so it’s time to highlight something spooky: Los Angeles’ Cecil Hotel has a long and strange history, one that its former inhabitants think might be tied to the paranormal. The former luxury hotel has been the site of multiple suicides and murders, as well as the temporary home of serial killers Richard Ramirez and Jack Unterweger. And in 2013, it was the last place Elisa Lam, a Canadian college student, was seen alive; her body was found days later in the hotel’s water tanks. This docuseries tries to separate fact from fiction, including the unsolved murder of Goldie “The Pigeon Lady” Olsen.
