Noah Baumbach getting Greenberg's dysfunctional band back together for next movie

Fresh off Greenberg’s strong showing at the Independent Spirit Awards, director Noah Baumbach is putting the Awkwardly Get-Along Gang together again for his new film, While We’re Young, re-teaming with Greenberg’s Ben Stiller and offering another role to his co-star, Greta Gerwig. Both Stiller and new Baumbach inductee James Franco are attached, while Cate Blanchett is rumored to join as well—and in a bit of semi-scandalous indie-film gossip, it’s said that her role would be the one initially intended for Jennifer Jason Leigh, who just filed for divorce from her spouse and former writing partner Baumbach last week. (Apologies for getting some TMZ in your IFC there.)

Although Baumbach’s obviously mum on the details, it’s said that the plot involves a “free-spirited Brooklynite twentysomething couple” (Franco and Gerwig, obviously) who “inspire an uptight documentarian (Stiller) and his wife (possibly Blanchett)…. with comedic consequences.” Finally, Noah Baumbach will make that slamming-doors British sex farce he’s always been building toward!
