Noah Hawley, Robert Kirkman, and the Russo brothers are teaming up for a new crime drama

FX has managed to consolidate the better part of a comic book zeitgeist in one of its upcoming projects, with Variety reporting that Fargo and Legions Noah Hawley, Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, and Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors of the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, have all signed on for one of the network’s new shows. Based off of the work of Atavist Magazine writer/co-founder Evan Ratliff, The Mastermind will follow the life of a former drug kingpin turned DEA informant.

The Russos have been attached to the show for a while now, presumably in between their stints keeping the Marvel Cinematic Universe on course. (They’ll also be serving as the show’s directors, bringing their old Community expertise to bear on a very different kind of story.) Now, Kirkman and Hawley have signed on to the show as executive producers, throwing a lot of buzz-worthy (and Emmy-nominated) clout behind the series.
