Noel Gallagher announces two solo albums

Liam Gallagher spoke confidently—and coined the should-be meme "Beady Eye music, mate"—in an interview with The A.V. Club back in March about his post-Oasis career. Now his brother Noel is stepping up with not one but two solo albums, the first of which comes out on October 17 in the U.K. and November 8 in the U.S. The 10-song Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds was recorded in Los Angeles in 2010 and part of 2011 with Oasis producer Dave Sardy, and includes a small orchestra of backing musicians.

Gallagher’s second album was done in collaboration with Amorphous Androgynous, a psych-rock offshoot of the British electronic band The Future Sound Of London. That record will drop in 2012.

Gallagher plans to tour this fall, though no dates have been announced yet.
