Nominate your favorites for the third TV Roundtable Readers' Choice selection! The theme is musical numbers

As we come to the end of our third round of the TV Roundtable—our panelists’ take on Taxi goes up later today, and they’ll take on Scrubs next week—it’s time for you folks to jump on in and offer us your suggestions for the readers’ choice pick, the nominees for which will be revealed at this time on Friday. Post in comments with your picks under the theme of musical numbers. The only guideline is that at some point in the episode, one of the regular characters (not a random guest character) has to burst into song for the enjoyment of all around. This could be a full musical episode, or it could be a one-off song. We’ve done both. The only rules involve one of the regulars singing and dancing. From there, the sky’s the limit.

Except…

We must remind you that the TV Roundtable endeavors to cover episodes of TV that haven’t already been covered in TV Club Which means that the most famous musical episode of recent years—Buffy The Vampire Slayer’s “Once More With Feeling”—is ineligible, because Noel Murray covered it so very well here. Yes, we know that the first thing you thought of when you saw “musical numbers” was the Buffy musical. Yes, we know that you would love to talk about it endlessly. But we must hold firm! There are other musical numbers out there, and they require discussion, too! So dig around for things TV Club hasn’t covered already, and if you nominate the Chicago Hope musical, we’ll give you a cookie.

The nomination period will last the next 36 hours, and we’ll announce the nominees Friday, with the winner being announced in next Wednesday’s Roundtable. See you then!
