Nortec Collective winds down with a new single, “Room Service”

Latin America’s biggest electronic act is Nortec Collective, a multi-member group that came together in Tijuana, Mexico. The group has been nominated for a number of Grammys and has performed at both Coachella and Bonnaroo but is calling it quits later this year, following the release of Motel Baja, the group’s latest and last record. Nortec Collective Presents: Bostich + Fussible’s Motel Baja is out Sept. 16 on Nacional Records, and A.V. Club readers can check out its first single, “Room Service,” below. Group member Fussible says it’s “one of those romantic songs that you’d hear in a Tijuana hotel room”—ostensibly a much nicer room than the one we’re picturing—and combines the “classic norteño sound of Mexican music from old times, but still has the electronic edge characteristic of the Nortec sound.”

Interested parties can pre-order Motel Baja now via iTunes.
