Keep A Child Alive’s exercise in vanity-based philanthropy doesn’t seem to be going all that well: Despite a worthy cause, the charity (which previously set a new standard for asshat altruism with its "I Am African" campaign) has only received just over $160,000 in donations toward its $1 million goal in the last 24 hours, perhaps because no one feels particularly compelled to ensure that people like Usher and Ryan Seacrest are able to return to Twitter, even if it also helps prevent AIDS. In fact, at a $10 minimum donation, that means only 16,000 of the estimated “28.6 million followers” of the people participating in the project have stepped up. Does everyone need to watch Kim Kardashian’s “Last Tweet And Testament” again or what?
