Now Fox is making a buddy comedy out of Dennis Rodman and Kim Jong Un's "hoops diplomacy"

Hollywood Reporter broke the news last night that Fox has bought the rights to Diplomats, a buddy comedy based on Dennis Rodman’s trip to North Korea to visit totalitarian dictator Kim Jong Un and engage in what Rodman termed “hoops diplomacy.” (Kim Jong Un, meanwhile, referred to the visit as “the perks of fascism.”) Ride Along director Tim Story will direct the film, because apparently the story of a ruthless dictator and an “eccentric” ex-NBA player in North Korea is not dissimilar from directing Ice Cube and Kevin Hart in a silly bromance in Atlanta.

No word yet on whether Rodman or Kim will reprise their roles for the film.
