Oh dear Lord, New Line resurrects Vacation franchise; new entry will focus on Clark Griswold's son
What's the only thing sketchier and less promising than a new entry in the venerable, oft-shitty National Lampoon Vacation series? How about a new entry focusing on zany, bumbling family man Clark Griswold's son? Yes, New Line has just announced that it will be unleashing upon the general public a forthcoming Vacation sequel in which the son of Chevy Chase's iconic goof, now a father and husband himself, heads out on the old Holiday Road with his family for a wacky journey in the spirit of the Griswold's legendarily troubled exodus to Wally World.
Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo are in talks to reprise their roles and provide a sense of continuity for the series and don't be surprised if Clark Jr.'s best friends the Simpsons show up to see what kind of crazy new adventures this newfangled gang of Griswolds will have against a series of colorful backdrops. Casting is still in the early stages, which means Dane Cook and Zach Braff are undoubtedly negotiating separately with the devil for the lead role. Is it possible to ruin something that wasn't much good to begin with?
