Oh good, The Walking Dead is adding more new characters
[This post touches on some plot points in season seven of The Walking Dead, so if you’re not caught up, here’s your chance to exit this post.]
Season seven of The Walking Dead roared its way to an anticlimax, with Negan’s latest plans for punishment foiled by Sasha (don’t worry, she’s gone to a hopefully better place), but not before Rick’s attempts to shut the Saviors down were ruined by his new “buddies,” the Scavengers. And that was all after the Ricktator bullied the Oceanside people into giving Alexandria their guns, and oh, also offering them a “chance to fight,” which the Kingdom did willingly take them up on. In the end, five different groups had convened in Alexandria for the finale, making it just a little difficult to tell what the hell was going on after a while.
But now that some nameless people have been killed off, The Walking Dead is looking for some new blood. TV Line reports the series is casting for a few new characters, who are already being hailed as two of the good guys. There’s Dillon, “a sexy, blue-collar twentysomething whose survival skills include sarcasm,” as well as Abbud, “an innately likable Muslim American whose nerves are, let’s say, jangled, because he’s flown solo for too long in zombieland.” TV Line says Dillon has a better chance of serving as more than walker fodder/food, as the casting notice they came across indicates the actor cast in the role could sign on for multiple seasons.
