Oh heck yeah, Lena Waithe is coming to Westworld
Here at The A.V. Club, our policy on Lena Waithe content is pretty simple: More equals good. And so, it is with a skip in our step, and only the slightest of worries that she’ll be part of the robot apocalypse crushing us all in our hearts that we report that the The Chi and Boomerang creator has signed on for the cast of season 3 of HBO’s Westworld.
HBO’s premiere puzzle box show has been quietly lining up some exciting new talent for its third year on the air, including newcomers like Waithe and Breaking Bad/BoJack Horseman favorite Aaron Paul. Meanwhile, because this is Westworld, we obviously have literally no fucking clue what sort of character Waithe—who also recently appeared in Ready Player One and Dear White People—might be playing. A robot that looks like a human? A human that looks like a robot? Two robots? Hell, she might even be playing a human who looks like a human, and then later on, you find out she’s been a human this whole time; that’d be a new one for this particular, ever-turning mind-screw of a show.
