Oklahoma City to name poorly lit alley after the Flaming Lips

An unnamed alley running by railway tracks and littered with open dumpsters in downtown Oklahoma City will soon by known as That Alley Named After The Flaming Lips. The band's management has given its blessing to the "tribute" (which actually seems kinda appropriate), and city leaders believe the name change could lead to clean-up and redevelopment of the area. The whimisical psych-rockers hail from the city, and lead singer Wayne Coyne still lives there. Fellow Ok City natives Vince Gill and Charlie Christian will also have streets named after them.
