Oliver Stone and Showtime partner for the "secret history of America"
As soon as he finishes Wall Street 2 (no, seriously), Oliver Stone will be returning to the world of conspiracies and insider politics that's been his bread-and-butter for decades now. Oliver Stone's Secret History Of America will be a 10-part documentary series airing on Showtime beginning in 2010. Stone promises to examine "the fierce struggle between war and peace in America's national security complex," by showing how American foreign policy—from the atomic-bombing of Japan onward—has shaped events large and small around the world. Done right, this could be an American version of Adam Curtis' excellent British documentaries. Or it could be 10 hours of rambling insinuations intercut with hazy shots of flying eagles or some such. Either way, it's bound to be more entertaining than Alexander.
