Oliver Stone bids Vladimir Putin “do svidaniya”

Here’s what’s up in the world of television for Thursday, June 15. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

The Putin Interviews (Showtime, 9 p.m.): After weathering harsh reviews and the pointed questions of Stephen Colbert, Oliver Stone’s latest documentary—cut from nearly 20 hours of interviews with president of the Russian federation and noted human-rights violator Vladimir Putin—comes to a close on Showtime. Will their farewell be bittersweet? Will Stone regret that Putin isn’t enough of a macho strongman to have a head of hair worth tousling? And can the portion of his soul he surrendered in order to gain access to his subject be reclaimed at customs? Tune in to find out. (Or don’t. Putin will probably find out either way.)

Regular coverage

F Is For Family (Netflix)

Wild card

The Tunnel (PBS, 9 p.m.): The Franco-British version of the border-traversing Danish-Swedish murder mystery Bron (which also formed the basis for FX’s The Bridge) begins its second season. You might also know it by the Russian take on the subject matter, That’s Not A Border, You’re Part Of Russia Now.
