Contributing to what promises to be a yearly tradition of New Girl's Jake Johnson dating some tough-little-cookie guest star until the show has lasted long enough to finally pair him with Zooey Deschanel, the series has just signed Olivia Munn for a multi-episode arc as Nick's new love interest. Like Lizzy Caplan before her, Munn will briefly disrupt the show's dynamic by playing a woman who's "sexy, earthy, charming, and can hold her own with the group," until at some point she cannot and goes away. And like her characters on Perfect Couples and The Newsroom, Munn will likely be slightly abrasive and cause some people to dislike her instantly, and other people to argue that there is no good reason to dislike her instantly, and still other people to just go get lunch, maybe at that new panini place.
