Olivia Wilde, Mark Duplass, and Donald Glover cheat death in The Lazarus Effect trailer

It’s a premise that’s fueled classic horror from Frankenstein to Pet Sematary to Flatliners: someone discovers a way to cheat death, but opens up unexpected horror as a result of playing God. The shocking twist? God, in this instance, is played by mumblecore pioneer Mark Duplass, who discovers a mellow, low-budget serum that brings animals back to arty, directionless life. Equally unlikely is director David Gelb, best known for documentary Jiro Dreams Of Sushi. As well-worn as the premise is, Gelb has put together a stellar cast. Duplass is joined by Donald Glover, Olivia Wilde, and American Horror Story’s Evan Peters, who unlock untold horrors when one of them… actually, on the outside chance you haven’t seen any of the movies from the first sentence, we’ll just let you be surprised.
