On The Flash, Barry and Iris’s future daughter has secrets in excess

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Tuesday, January 29. All times are Eastern.

Top pick

The Flash (The CW, 8 p.m.): Nora West-Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy), the speedster also known as XS, seems like such a nice young lady. She’s got cute hair. She smiles a lot. She is no longer being a flat-out dick to her mom (Candice Patton), and has (mostly) stopped impulsively trying to help in ways that could maybe kill someone. Sure, it’s weird that she’s from the future, and equally as strange that no one is worried that she’s going to butterfly-effect herself out of existence, but Team Flash has always been a mite devil-may-care when it comes to time travel. She’s pretty schway. But as teased throughout this season, the future daughter has got some pretty major now secrets, and one member of Team Flash has begun to figure that out.

No, it’s not her dad (Grant Gustin)—for a professional investigator, Barry’s not always great with mysteries. It’s Sherloque Wells (Tom Cavanagh), who we must admit is not our favorite Wells, but who seems to be earning his keep as the greatest detective in the multiverse, for once. Scott Von Doviak is also on the case.

Regular coverage

Seriously, that accent is not great.

Wild card

Drunk History (Comedy Central, 10 p.m.): Okay, okay, this is the second week in a row we’ve picked Drunk History as our Wild Card, but in our defense, ESPN’s Katie Nolan is going to get smashed and talk about the 1919 Black Sox scandal, and Steven Weber’s going to play Philip K. Wrigley in the story that inspired A League Of Their Own. We’re based in Chicago; it’s not even a question that this would be the pick. Deal with it. There’s no crying in What’s On Tonight. (Groans are appropriate here.)
