One trip to Jurassic World is enough for Colin Trevorrow

As audiences are exhorted via commercials that increasingly make it look like a straight-up horror movie to return to the park in which animals from a certain prehistoric age are kept, at least one person isn’t falling for it. According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Colin Trevorrow has confirmed that he will not be returning to helm any potential sequels to Jurassic World, likely because he’s seen the movies and knows that going back there is a bad idea.

Jurassic Park is like Star Wars,” Trevorrow recently said, making the point that, yes, those are both movies that have multiple installments. “Different directors can give a different taste to each movie.” He did say that he would be involved in some form with any subsequent films, possibly from a remote location far away from any dinosaurs or accusations of perpetuating ’70s-era sexism. Instead, Trevorrow is busy developing Intelligent Life, a movie which confidently asserts that if we ever make contact with an alien life form, some guy is going to want to have sex with it.
