In a news story that sounds like it was spontaneously generated from the cover of Cosmopolitan, Oprah Winfrey and Diablo Cody have teamed to develop an HBO show based on Moody Bitches: The Truth About The Drugs You're Taking, The Sex You're Not Having, The Sleep You're Missing, And What's Really Making You Crazy—suggesting that, after months of combing through high-minded literature, HBO decided it could use something a little fluffier. Like the upcoming book from Dr. Julie Holland it's based on, this Oprah-produced, Cody-scripted series will explore all the drugs these bitches take, the sex those bitches are subsequently not having, the sleep they're also missing, and what’s really making bitches crazy, besides the aforementioned drugs and lack of sex and sleep, and the fact that even their doctors are referring to them as "moody bitches." (For example, maybe the hobo brass band outside their windows. If only it would learn some new songs!) For now the show is untitled, owing to TV’s documented resistance toward putting “bitch” in the name, and, no doubt, the possibility of viewers confusing Moody Bitches with Girls.
