Orphan Black’s new trailer goes back to the beginning

Over the course of its first three seasons, Orphan Black took the simple story of three clones trying to solve a mystery and complicated it with clone after clone after shady organization after male clone after unnecessary dance party. For the show’s fourth season, however, co-creator John Fawcett has explained he wants Orphan Black to have the “vibe of season one again.” And this brand new fourth season trailer gives a hint at what that might look like.

The trailer opens with Sarah Manning (Tatiana Maslany) explaining she wants to go “back to the beginning of all this.” From there it cycles through faces old and new, while lightening the mood with a techno beat. The trailer offers our first look at the new mask-wearing clone named MK who was introduced in the show’s creepy Alice In Wonderland-themed teaser. (Spoiler alert: She looks just like Maslany!) Elsewhere, the question of whether or not Delphine (Evelyne Brochu) survived the gunshot wound inflicted on her in the third season finale is raised, but not answered. That means “Cophine” ’shippers will have to wait to learn the fate of their favorite couple until Orphan Black returns April 14 at 10 p.m. EST on BBC America.
