Our bacon-centric food truck festival now has guest chefs and bands

As we mentioned before, The A.V. Club—along with Optimum Events LLC and Hormel Black Label Bacon—are presenting the Logan Square Food Truck Social on Saturday and Sunday, October 15-16. Well now we’ve got more info for you than just “food trucks” and “Logan Square” and “bacon.”

In addition to the 20+ food trucks that will be on hand to sell you their wares, we’ve convinced five Chicago chefs to create special bacon appetizers to whet your appetite. The chef lineup includes Dana Cree (The Publican), Mike Sheerin (Blackbird, Cicchetti), Dan Salls (The Salsa Truck, Quiote), Brian Jupiter (Frontier), and Patrick Bertoletti (Taco In A Bag). Each will appear for a couple of hours in our pop-up bacon tent and give away bacon-forward dishes created just for this event.

Also: Our friends at Empty Bottle Presents have booked some fine, fine music to keep you entertained for the weekend: Steve Gunn/Jim Elkington Duo, RP Boo, Troubled Hubble, Open Mike Eagle, Brokeback, No Men, Bottletree, and Dave Davison (of Maps & Atlases). The full schedule of chefs and bands is below.

The whole thing takes place on Humboldt Boulevard between Armitage and Bloomington, in Logan Square. Saturday and Sunday, October 15-16, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. There’s a suggested donation of $5. See you there?
