It’s not just warring mutants coming to the multiplex this Memorial Day weekend. Disney fends off the X-Men with their own effects-driven sequel, Alice Through The Looking Glass, which has even less in common with its Lewis Carroll source material than Tim Burton’s 2010 adaptation did. On this episode of Film Club, staffers A.A. Dowd and Ignatiy Vishnevetsky catalogue the offenses of this time-traveling follow-up (produced, but not directed, by Burton), before diving into the lesser latter-day work of the man who made Michael Keaton and Johnny Depp stars.
