Pan writer Jason Fuchs heads to Rob McElhenney’s Minecraft movie
Warner Bros. has gone to writer Jason Fuchs to script its Minecraft movie, Variety reports, implying that he is good with right angles. Fuchs’ biggest credit to date is probably—yikes—Pan, but his name has been attached to a number of the studio’s projects, including a Lobo flick and Wonder Woman. However, it’s worth noting that Fuchs was not credited in a release, which went out tied to this summer’s San Diego Comic Con, about that latter film. That announcement said Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns wrote the screenplay, while Heinberg and Zack Snyder conceived the story. Fuchs is also reportedly involved with a Doug Liman-Tom Cruise enterprise called Luna Park.
Minecraft is being directed by Rob McElhenney of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia fame, and is scheduled to be released in May 2019. According to Variety, Jon Spaihts, who wrote Doctor Strange and Passengers, already took a pass at the screenplay.
