Paramount plans theme park in Middle East
For those looking for a little more exotic flavor than your standard trips to Disney World, Universal Studios, Dickens World, or one of the new Nickelodeon-themed resorts we've previously reported on, Paramount Pictures has announced plans to build a $2.5 billion theme park in the United Arab Emirates, with the city of Dubai the front-runner to house the studio's hotels, restaurants, and attractions built around Paramount properties like Top Gun, Mission: Impossible, Titanic, The Godfather, Grease, Braveheart, and Dreamgirls. This follows already-announced plans to build Universal City Dubailand and a new Marvel theme park, also in Dubai. Cool, tourist-baiting monuments to Hollywood excess in the Middle East. That should work out nicely.
