Parry Gripp introduces tiny madness with his new theme for Disney’s The 7D
Disney has a way of twisting its own properties that can turn out to be fairly interesting, as made evident by the recent Maleficent movie. That type of corporate synergy could trickle down to The 7D, a new “contemporary” and “comedic” take on the seven dwarfs that premieres next Monday, July 7, on the Disney Channel. And if the show’s choice of theme song composer—Parry Gripp, of “Hamster On A Piano” and “Wiener Dog Riding Skateboard” fame—is any indication, the show could be pretty weird. Below, A.V. Club readers can get an exclusive first listen to the show’s theme, which finds Gripp harnessing his Nerf Herder past to great effect. Gripp also acts as The 7D’s songwriter and composer, something he’s fairly familiar with having written songs for Phineas And Ferb, The Super Hero Squad Show, Ben 10: Omniverse, and for Hallmark’s Hoops & Yoyo characters.
